Green light for Ludlow Road car park as it achieves Park Mark accreditation

Green Parking Ltd has once again demonstrated the highest standards across its parking operations

A recently opened and newly refurbished car park located in the town centre district of Maidenhead in Berkshire, close to the town's railway station has achieved the prestigious Park Mark award. Green Parking's Ludlow Road car park has measures in place that actively deter crime and the fear of crime in car parks.

Park Mark® is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme. It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness.  All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.

Car parks with a Park Mark® can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.

Mr Ben Gill, General Manager, Green Parking Ltd said: "We are very pleased that our new Ludlow Road car park in Maidenhead has received the Park Mark award. We are keen supporters of the Park Mark scheme and always try to follow its principles in all all our parks across the UK. The award shows that our customers can park in a safer environment.”

David Lancaster. Park Mark National Roaming Assessor on behalf of Thames Valley Police said "I am pleased to be able to grant the Safer Parking Award to Green Parking who have once again demonstrated their commitment to providing a safe, busy and very well-managed parking experience for local residents and visitors to Maidenhead. This is a welcome addition to their growing number of Park Mark-accredited parking facilities.  In particular, I am impressed with the efforts that Green Parking put into increasing safety and security through a programme of continuous improvement across their parking portfolio, which is reflected by the ongoing improvements currently being implemented at this facility”.
