Park Mark awarded to St. Ann's Shopping Centre Multi-Storey Car Park in Harrow

940 space North London facility has once again demonstrated the highest standards across its parking operations

The St Ann's Shopping Centre multi-storey car park located in Harrow town centre and managed by the centre management team has once again achieved the prestigious Park Mark award following its recent reassessment by the Metropolitan Police and the British Parking Association. This is a great achievement and demonstrates that the parking facilities at St Ann's have measures in place that actively deter crime and the fear of crime.

Park Mark® is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme. It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the BPA. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness.  All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.

Car parks with a Park Mark® can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.

P.C. Danny McPhail, Met. Police Designing Out Crime Officer and Park Mark Assessor said. "The St Ann’s Shopping Centre car park has had only one reported crime occurring over the last 2 years. With reported crime and anti-social behaviour on the rise nationally, and especially in car parks, this very low crime figure shows how well-managed this particular car park is. Well done to George and his team.

Mr George Elia, Operations Manager at St Ann's Shopping Centre said: "We are delighted that St Ann's Shopping Centre multi-storey car park has once again been awarded Park Mark accreditation. We are proud to support the Park Mark Safer Parking initiative and are pleased to provide safer and welcoming car parking to all our visitors.

Antony Powell, BPA Area Manager, said: “I am delighted that car parking facilities at the St Ann`s Shopping Centre in Harrow town centre have once again retained their Park Mark award status. This latest award demonstrates the management team`s hard work and commitment to providing a safer environment for all users of the facilities”
