Victoria Place Car Park Corby

Prestigious Park Mark award for Victoria Place car park

Corby Car Park receives Park Mark award for having demonstrated the highest standards across its operations.

Park Mark is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme, which is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association.  Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness.  All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.

Car parks with the Park Mark® award can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick, so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.

Commenting on the award,  Facilities Supervisor Garry Hickman said: "I am pleased that Victoria Place has achieved the Park Mark. It is perfectly situated for the swimming pool, ancient woodland, shops, cinema, and theatre is free to park on Sundays and Bank Holidays and is only ever closed for the Tata Kids of Steel Triathlon.

BPA Area Manager Colin Sproates said: “I am delighted that North Northamptonshire Council's Victoria Place car park in Corby, has achieved the Park Mark award, demonstrating their hard work and commitment to providing a safe environment for users.”

Rebecca Smith, Designing Out Crime Officer also expressed her delight at the award stating it was a very good and well-managed car park.
